Tree Skirts a Plenty

So today I was up at 8 am and sewing within 15 minutes. While the coffee was brewing my mind was stewing on what to create. This was my project for the day.. Tree Skirts... I have sewn 4 this day and tomorrow I will be at it again. Time is not on my side. Between crochet and the sewing I have little to no time for anything else.

I do hope you like. I manage to keep one for my house and the other 3 are on my Ebay for sale.

Baby Kimono Set's

It seems that I am forever making something with a hook, and you know... it's true! Just a little while ago I posted several items I had finished just days ago. Now I am posting once again. This time, the items I am adding are just finished. The baby outfit that is shown is for a newborn.

This Kimono, hat and matching booties as I mentioned are for a newborn. Made from a soft acrylic. Machine washable also able to be put in a dryer though I would line dry if possible. This set is also for sale. I am asking $12.50. Feel free to ask questions. I can make other colors schemes if needed and do special orders.

Mini Hobo Bags

Just what the Tween set ordered... I have been making these purses for our wonderful ladies, and my girls ( who are teens ) have been asking for a smaller version. Something geered to the younger set (teen-college). So I decided to scale down. Here are 2 of my bags. Normally I would say that these would be for sale but it happens that these 2 are spoken for already. If you are interested please email me as I can make you one. The going price for a purse like this is $15.00. Feel free to ask me questions. I just love to hear from you ..

Crayola Shawl at It's Finest

Yep, it is finally finished! I promised that a picture would be posted and here it is. I do hope that you like it. The shawl was made with a yarn called TLC Wiggles. It is machine washable but I would hang it to dry

Beginings of a Cupcake Scarf

There seems to be a "cupcake" craze going on these days. I have teens at home and I dare say I am not immune from this drama. With that in mind I am attemting to make a winter scarf for my daughter. This is one of the many cupcakes that are being baked up by my hook. Of course finished product will be shown.

First Stages of Crayola Shawl

I started this Shawl a couple days ago and thought I better take a couple pictures of it now before it is to big. You will not be able to appericiate the sense of the name otherwise. I call it Crayola because it reminds me of the crayons. If you can see the coloring you will understand the name. I have alot to go, it still has more red to add and the fringe. At present it will fit a child but I am making it for an adult size. When it is finished I will add the completed pictures as well.

Busy Bee At it Again

I seem to be forever working on a project. Yes I am still making those Angels, but I have also been making other things as well. Today I show a finished project. A little purse that was made for my now 20 yr old daughter Elaina. She likes small bags and this seemed like the perfect idea. I do hope she likes it as much as I enjoyed making it for her..

The Rose

Last but not least, the rose. I tried my hand at making a single rose and this is how it came out. It will be a magnet for someone special. Enjoy!

Updated Sept 6th, I have added a pink rose to the collection....

Have a bit of a Sweet Tooth

Living with someone who is diabetic, I decided to make cupcakes that he could not eat. See his sugar does a daily roller coaster ride and I am always on him about getting it under control. So I made him a cupcake then another and one more. Now when he says he is in the mood for something sweet I hand him one of these. This way I know he is not over doing it. It might seem cruel but it is a joke around here. Even his son has tried to take a bite out of one of my crocheted cupcakes. They are adorable. Truth be told, they are going to be pin cushions in the future. But for now .. Let them have there fun...

Hobo to go Purse

Here is a recent project that I finished this week. I simply love this bag and the way it turned out. It is called a "Hobo" bag. I even made a little matching makeup case for it. Well I would use it for credit cards, crochet hooks as it is big enough. Just about anything you wanted as it can hold it. Bag is made from 100% cotton yarn and is machine washable. This is always a plus. I am in the process of making another one from a spool of rose thread. Will post once it is finished.

Trinkets for .....more Trinkets

For the love of fashion, when not fighting my way out from under endless skeins of yarn, I like to play with beads. Here are some of the ideas that we (Myself & Joe ) have been playing with. Mind you this is a new idea. Usually I am making thread stitch markers from my crochet work.

By the way, Joe is my better half . Hope you enjoy as there will be more... much more to come

Purses Anyone???

Anyone in the mood to go shopping? Wait! we can't go with out a purse. Why settle for just any ole' handbag when you can sport with something different? Yep, here are just another one of my many creations. I am a busy bee these days.
Two of these bags are 100% wool straight from a sheep farm. When I was living in Ohio, I had met a woman there who had a farm and she talked me into tryingsome of the fresh spun wool. I figured I would try my hand at felting. So I added some funky yarns with the wool and walla I got some very interesting handbags. They are the 2 beige bags (fushia and brown mix).
I do not make a habbit of using wool as I am allergic to the fiber and itched the entire time I crocheted. The other three bags were either crocheted or knit with acrylic yarns. Each one is unique in its own way. If you have interest in them, they are on Ebay.

Mr. & Mrs. Snow Couple

Just my sweet little snow couple hanging around waiting for winter to arrive and cool things off around here.

Baby Days.....

I
bet you think I made these all in a matter of a couple days.. well I didn't, though I wish I was that quick. It took me a bit of time and now they are completed and sitting on Ebay awaiting a new home, yes and a new baby. I wanted to share with everyone some of the things I have been working on. Isn't that what a blog is for?

I hope you enjoy checking back and seeing all the new items that I post. Take care and have a good evening.... Gayle

One Rug, Two Rug ...

After careful consideration and of course several tries at rug braiding, I had found that it was easier for me to crochet a rug or two. A trip to the store, sifting out colors and textures, then decissions. I chose a cotton blend material, purchasing about 25 yards total for each rug made. The family helped me tear 1 inch strips as well as put a never ending hem in each set of colors to make a pattern. Once that was done, I began to crochet the strips using a single crochet stitch. You can see how they came out in the pictures. Both have been washed and they held up wonderfully. I am already planning on making a blue patterned rug. I know the pattern is vague but I hope it has been helpful. It actually is really simple.

The Coming of Wedding Bells.... Opps Let's Have Cake Instead!

When I am not running all over the place caring for my family, I am usually absorbed with my crochet or knitting needles. Over time I will be displaying the things I have been making and creating. If you find something that catches your eye, feel free to contact me. Most items have been placed up for sale.

I had been pondering on something different so I had decided to make a cake, just so happens that my oldest daughter announced she had gotten engaged the next day. Timing huh... What I like about this cake is that the top layer has a lid so that you can store the rings. I was thinking it would make a nice center piece for the head table. A larger hook and some silk flowers and a simple pattern could be a little more formal. Any input always is great!
